WE ARE AGAIN “RECOMMENDED” BY THE IAM1000 IN THE 2020–2021 DIRECTORY.

The IAM1000 is an influential directory of intellectual property professionals and Schlich has again been recognised by the IAM1000 as “Recommended” for patent prosecution and George Schlich has been recognised individually for his achievement and expertise.

“Prosecution shop Schlich Ltd covers everything from patent searching to freedom-to-operate advice and analysis, and directs filings in numerous jurisdictions – all from its unique base on the south coast of England. The team is made up of a legion of chemists and biochemists, who file with alacrity not only for pharmaceutical SMEs, but also for innovators in the medical devices, food technology and waste treatment fields. Captaining the ship is the eponymous George Schlich, a scientific all-rounder whose varied expertise encompasses vaccines, stem cell technologies and missile guidance systems, among other things. He also has his finger on the pulse when it comes to CRISPR technologies; clients in this nascent area include Intellia Therapeutics. Like many of his colleagues, he has spent more than his fair share of time at the EPO on oppositions and appeals.”

Collaboration between PDT Solicitors and Schlich offers clients a strong choice of representation before the EU’s ground-breaking Unified Patent Court.

Notwithstanding Brexit and the UK’s withdrawal from the UPC, UK-based European patent attorneys, such as those at Schlich, will have the right to represent clients before the UPC. Therefore, it remains possible for clients to use a UK-based legal team for UPC infringement and revocation actions. Schlich and PDT have joined forces to provide clients with a strong choice of representation before the UPC, drawing on Schlich’s impressive expertise in substantive patent law and extensive experience handling contentious matters before the European Patent Office, and PDT’s wealth of experience handling litigation in the UK and a growing number of European jurisdictions.
