February 2024 It’s been just over a month since the Schlich team switched on our treadmills and set off for our walk to the EPO challenge. And set off we have!
Working in kilometres (we are, after all, European Patent Attorneys), we have managed to walk approximately 530km and are officially more than halfway to Munich!
If we were to physically walk to Munich, we would have crossed the English Channel into northern France, made a slight detour into Belgium and cut across the very south of Luxembourg. Luckily for us, we are not doing this trek in the real world, as the hills and mountains of this region would be quite a challenge!
Having two offices means that there are two teams trying to get the highest distance, both in fierce competition with each other. I am pleased to report that the New Road office is currently in the lead, with 281km between the eight employees.
We ended last week at the border of France and Germany. With just under 400km left to walk until we reach the EPO in Munich, we are hoping to have finished the challenge by the end of March, assuming our competitive spirit doesn’t fizzle out any time soon!
