Juliette has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Sussex. Her research project related to the stabilisation of free radicals and the use of electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Juliette also has a D.Phil. from the University of Sussex in which her research focused on the synthesis of biologically active steroids. Post-doctoral work focused on the biotransformations on these steroids using microorganisms.

Juliette is a Chartered Patent Attorney, and has experience in the drafting and prosecution of applications in the fields of chemistry, medical devices, and mechanical devices. She has acted for a wide range of clients from individual inventors, through start-up businesses to multinational corporations. While her background is in chemistry, and she has been involved in the prosecution of chemical and biochemical patents, Juliette has also prosecuted applications relating to mechanical inventions including asthma inhalers, bio processing flow path components, steam cleaners, injection moulding, lighting and trawl doors.

Juliette’s technical abilities and collaborative approach led to her being “recommended” by the IAM1000, who say that she “manages international portfolios with a sure hand and provides unerringly pragmatic advice.” Further, “Her strategies are clear and robust; she can get up to speed on complex technologies quickly; and she navigates challenging examinations with finesse.” As a trade mark attorney, Juliette advises clients on a wide range of trade mark matters including maximising their protection and taking action against infringers.

Juliette has represented clients in a wide range of industries in both contentious and non-contentious matters. In particular, she has prosecuted and defended trade mark oppositions in the UK and Europe, and has experience of US trade mark oppositions.

In April 2022, Juliette was promoted to Associate at Schlich.
